Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a modern, science-based approach to positive mental and emotional well-being, enabling you to live your life your way.
We are often very busy in life and lose sight of ourselves. During my training, in a key lesson on how the mind works, I suddenly realised how my own thinking and lifestyle had been affected by my thoughts! Our subconscious minds respond to imagination or reality – so whether you worry a lot, or whether you think positively, your mind and body will respond accordingly. When we worry or get anxious, we often stop doing the very things that can help us feel calm and able to cope, that bring us pleasure: we stop seeing people and friends; we ‘retreat into our cave’; we stop exercising – the list could go on – and this makes things worse; we feel even more anxious, we lack confidence and self-esteem. How you live your life – the activities you do or don’t do also affect your mood. When we get stuck in this negative cycle, we often don’t know what we want, or what to do, or how to change.
This is my goal – to offer you a kind and safe environment to help you gently free your thinking to enable you to come up with your own solutions. Those solutions are within you but can get squashed down underneath the anxiety thinking; (thoughts that feel real and fixed but are mostly temporary – even if you have been like this for a while).
The way back to the ‘old’ (or ‘new’!) you is about thinking and acting positively: focusing your attention on what you want, not what you don’t want. A session is designed to help you think positively (by focusing on what you want, you naturally move to positive thoughts); recognise your strengths and abilities, and to begin to take small steps to a positive life and in some cases coping positively with challenging circumstances. Hypnosis is a gentle and beneficial relaxing time, when your subconscious mind is active and able to take ‘on board’ new ideas; and when it switches from anxiety mode to calm mode. You will feel nicely relaxed and better able to think clearly afterwards.
